Parents noted a learning curve with this system. Closing it can be a challenge since the wheels must be facing a certain way. Some parents couldn’t push it well on loose terrain or snow/slush. The storage basket can be hard to reach from the rear and may need to be accessed between the seats. The front canopy is a bit short and doesn’t provide as much sun protection as some parents had hoped.

So what do you do when your newborn falls asleep on outings? When you don't have any other option, you unbuckle her and put her in a babywearing carrier or stroller. Or, you carry her inside and put her in her designated sleep spot in your home. Most every parent I've spoken to who has skipped an infant car seat has said that their baby would transition to the next spot to sleep just fine.
The Baby Trend EZ Ride 5 is another car seat stroller combo that’s good for tight budgets and features the Baby Trend Flex Loc infant car seat. The car seat fits babies from 5 - 30 pounds. The stroller works for infants and children up to 50 pounds. Unfolded stroller dimensions are 40" L x 23.50" W x 40" H and the car seat dimensions are 26" L x 16.5" W x 25" H.
This strap tends to slip and turn and move, cannot be fixed with the strap in one position on my car seat. Because of how my car seat is designed, if I position the straps the way they are in the picture, the whole thing is "top heavy" and will pivot toward the baby's head, which is worse than useless. And the straps are not stable at the top of the carrier, nor can I put them on the inside of the handle, which might make things more secure. I can't tighten or lengthen the horizontal strap across the top, and it's either too big or not big enough for stability.
CR’s take: Our testers found that you get the best (and easiest) fit between car seats and strollers when you stick to a single brand, and this duo from Chicco is a prime example. But Chicco doesn’t sell the Activ3 stroller with the KeyFit car seat as a travel system. Building this bundle yourself means you can have all the advantages of the jogging stroller, which handles nimbly and, once you’re removed the KeyFit car seat, collapses flat using one hand.

The Chicco Viaro is a sportier model, one that fits in with your active lifestyle in style. It includes the very popular Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat, which topped our list with a 9.9 rating. It holds infants from 4 - 30 pounds. The stroller holds infants and children up to 50 pounds. The stroller’s open dimensions are 38.0” L x 25.5” W x 41.25” H. Folded dimensions are 13.5” L x 25.5” W x 33.25” H. The car seat is 22” L x 17” H x 24 “ W.
This trendy-looking system features the Maxi Cosi Mico 30 infant car seat. The similar Maxi Cosi Mico AP scored 9.1 on our list, but has a 22 pound weight limit as opposed to the 30 pound limit in the Mico 30. The stroller holds babies and children up to 50 pounds. Folded stroller dimensions are 17" L x 25.5" W x 34" H while unfolded dimensions are 37" L x 25.8" W x 45" H. The car seat dimensions (with base) are 32.5" L x 17.75" W x 22.75" H.

I did look at a bunch of reviews prior to buying. Looked at several different options and decided to give this one a try. So glad I did. Had this for over 5 months now, great car seat. Easy to install, kiddo is comfortable, and seems very safe and secure. We are looking at the next size up as our kiddo grows and will be sticking with the Chico brand. Would definitely recommend.

Use a booster seat with a regular lap and shoulder belt for children who have outgrown their forward-facing car seats. Booster seats raise the child up so that the lap and shoulder seat belts fit properly. Adjust the shoulder belt to fit across the shoulder, not the neck. Adjust the lap belt to fit across the hips, not the stomach. Use this type of seat until adult seat belts fit your child correctly. See a picture of a booster seat.

Travel System safety starts with buying a quality stroller carseat combo. When considering a car seat stroller combo, it makes sense to do the research on the products you are considering buying. Start by reading the descriptions of the products and by visiting our car seat stroller combo reviews section to see what other parents have thought about these products. User reports on a product will tell you more about the product than any other source.
As the name suggests, the all-in-one car seat covers all of your child's car seat needs, and it can install in both rear- and forward-facing positions. It transitions from infant car seat to forward-facing toddler car seat to booster seat. In the rear-facing position, an all-in-one car seat safely holds babies as small as 4 pounds. In the forward-facing position, kids can wear the five-point harness up to 65 pounds. As a booster seat, children up to 120 pounds can sit in the booster securely using the car's seat belt system.
This Snap n Go is a great system, but I would not purchase the Baby Trend Infant Car Seat that is recommended for the stroller. It is not soft and cushiony and it doesn't recline enough for a newborn. It took our daughter 2 months to get to where she was comfortable in it and that was with some modification on our part. Her head would bob and she got terribly fussy every time we put her in it. We had to put a fleece blanket underneath her (this means that there won't be enough room for her once she is about 15 pounds) and we have modified the carrier so that she sits back further in it. If I were to do it again, I would purchase a Graco seat to snap into it.
The Chicco KeyFit is the highest-scoring infant car seat in our ratings, and has been for years. It's easy to use and install with a seat belt or LATCH mechanism, plus it earns the highest score possible in our crash-protection test. Its lone drawback is that it maxes out with a 22-pound child and, considering most babies triple their weight by the time they turn 1, you’ll need to upgrade to a new car seat sooner than you may have planned. Of course you can continue to use the Activ3 stroller after you move your child to a convertible car seat, but you'll need to unstrap her to move her between the two.
The other major upside to travel systems is that you only have to buy one stroller that’ll see you and your child from birth through the toddler years. Newborns can’t ride in a regular stroller seat until they can sit up on their own (usually around 6 months), so if you don’t opt for a travel system, you’ll have to hunt for a stroller with a seat that fully reclines or stick with a baby carrier. Plus, buying a car seat-stroller combo instead of purchasing the gear separately can save you some money.
Parents were also unhappy that the stroller isn’t compatible with more brands such as Chicco and Britax. Some parents noted that the seats didn’t have enough recline when sitting fully upright, and that their children tended to slide down. There also seems to be a tendency for tipping over if a child stands or climbs into the seat with their knees.

Parents love the infant carrier handle with its easy rubber grip and unique shape. Assembly of the stroller was super easy. An expandable canopy with a mesh window make it a great option for people who live (or travel to) sunnier climates. For older children, there is a removable, washable child tray that many like. The stroller seemed easy to push and maneuver with the swiveling front wheel.
We used the Combi Coccoro seat with both of our babies and absolutely loved it. HOWEVER, it has very low upper weight and height limits and so we knew it wouldn't be the only convertible seat we'd ever own. My son is off-the-charts tall and outgrew the seat at around 11 months - thereby not saving us money in the long run over having an infant car seat carrier.
This fun-looking travel system is super affordable and has great prints and patterns that parents seem to love. The well-padded seat on the stroller has multiple recline settings plus a removable large head support pillow that can also be used in the car seat. Parents like the padding and say the car seat straps are easy to buckle. They love the many compartments in the stroller, especially the bottom basket and the covered parent tray.

This premium side-by-side stroller has many premium features you can’t find in cheaper strollers. True all-wheel suspension (not just front wheels), oversized UPF 45+ canopies with extensions, soft rPET polyester fabric made from 53 post consumer water bottles per stroller, and certified free of harmful chemicals. Adjustable foot rests keep little feet supported for no more dangling legs.

The fabric isn’t very soft and smooth as with other strollers, so it might not be comfortable or breathable for long trips. The covered compartment in the parent tray might be too small for some phones such as the iPhone 6Plus and up. Also, there have been quality control issues with some parts breaking or getting stuck on the stroller after less than a year’s use.
In just a few short months, your baby will be sitting up on her own and ready to ride in her stroller without the car seat. Since the usual stroller should last until your child is 50 or more pounds, you’ll want one with good suspension and easy maneuverability. A sleeping 3-year-old can often feel like they weigh a ton, so you want something you can push around easily without breaking your back and waking her up. The stroller should also be easy for your toddler to climb in and out of without having to be picked up.
Since I can't load toddler into his car seat while wearing baby, If I happen to be loading the car on a rare outing without a stroller I quickly place baby in her seat unbuckled, load and buckle toddler and loop back to get baby buckled in. I leave my car keys next to baby to remind me to go back and buckle her (since I have only 2 remaining brain cells left and could totally imagine forgetting to strap her in!).
The InStep Take 2 trailer is aimed at adults who want to bring their young kids along for bike rides. It offers an alternative to detachable toddler seats that allows two children to be carried at once instead of only one, and is suitable for use in varied weather conditions. At a comparatively low price, the InStep seems like an attractive offer, so let’s take a closer look. Features Of The InStep Take 2 Trailer * High quality steel-framed trailer, * Can accommodate 2 children, * Attaches to most ...

Newly upgraded in 2018, this stroller has more headroom per child and more sun coverage. Parents love the smooth ride and how easy it is to fold and transport. They found it fairly easy to fit through most doors and aisles. A zippered compartment on the back stores cell phones and keys and can be removed for extra air flow. A large storage basket holds big diaper bags and purses.
When you are searching for the best baby travel system you may find in a market, you need to make a tandem purchase –beside the carrier/car seat, you’ll need a reliable stroller as well. The combo needs to be safe, lightweight and easily interchangeable amongst other things. There is a concerning fact that almost 80 percent of child seats are installed incorrectly, and that increases the risk for child to be injured in a car accident. All car seats must meet federal safety standards in a 30 mph crash test. The safest car seat is the one installed correctly and securely every time, and fits your child properly. Spending much money at the infant car seat/stroller doesn’t ensure that you’ll get the best performing seat. There are certain mid-priced models in the market that work equally or better than the higher-priced models. Regardless of price, some seat models may simply just not work with your car due to their design, shape or size.
I was hesitant to purchase this, but I needed a way to carry my infant in a carseat while leaving myself available to hold my toddler's hand and chase him if needed. I had no idea how I was going to get my toddler in and out of the car safely while negotiating my newborn. Unlike what negative reviews suggest, this is not a substitute for carrying your baby in arms or in a sling. It is for those circumstances in which you need to carry your infant's carseat, such as going into a restaurant. Even though it's great for two little ones, I would have loved to have had this with my first as well, because I am short and have a hard time carrying the carseat by the handle in general.

BRITAX infant/child seats can be used rear facing from 5 to 40 pounds (2.3 to 18.1 kilograms) and forward facing from 22 pounds and walks unassisted, up to 65 pounds (10 kilograms and walks unassisted, up to 29.4 kilograms), depending on the seat. High-capacity convertibles allow your child to stay in a five-point harness through the toddler years.
